A machine at 216.239.168.78
which is registered to an ISP, UNIVERSAL TELECOM, in Corvallis, Oregon
persists in probling our (Comcast-served) home LAN.

An inquiry to them resulted in them telling us to go away and ask our ISP
what they are doing.

Why should a strange system be probing our home LAN?

You thoughful and on-topic responses will be truly appreciated.
