Hi

Wonder if anyone can help me. I am trying to run QIII arena on a BT Adsl
connection with an Alcatel USB Modem.

Basically I keep getting the error 'no responce from master server' when I
try to refresh servers available to play online

I did some checking around and it seems that it could be my Alcatel modem
and Norton System works Firewall combo.

Gamespy says I need to open up the 'ports' as shown below , but where do I
do this. Norton Personal firewall does not seem to have a place you can
'open' or shut ports.

-------Gamespy port access suggestions---------

6667 (IRC)
3783 (Voice Chat Port)
27900 (Master Server UDP Heartbeat)
28900 (Master Server List Request)
29900 (GP Connection Manager)
29901 (GP Search Manager)
13139 (Custom UDP Pings)
6515 (Dplay UDP)
6500 (Query Port)

-------Gamespy port access suggestions finish ---------

I have already told Norton personal firewal to accept both Gamespy and Quake
, they are both set to 'permanently allow access' to both applications.

I still get the errors, so am presuming it's this port thing

Has anyone had the same problem, can anyone help?

Would greatly appreciate some pointers.

I realise this is off topic but have tried the Quake Forums and the ADSL
forums, so just at last chance saloon, that somebody may have a inkling.

Simon
