A router/NAT box does not really replace something like ZA for me.
Even the most expensive corporate filewall doesn't know which of the
applications on your machine is legitamate and which one is a
newly-installed spy-ware. Since ZA pops up a message whener something
new tries to call home you stand a chance of catching these things.
If you are really paranoid you want both, just in case one is cracked.
In a recent Linksys router I set up for someone I saw signs that it
can work in conjunction with Trend Micro Antivires software on the PC
(which I like). It may do what you are looking for.
