Actually, today's Firebox's require VERY FEW reboots during config changes.
Unless you're changing base: network settings, IPSec, DVCP, etc. reboots are
typically unnecessary. Adding users, tweaking proxies and rules generally
don't require reboots.

I LIKE the idea of working a policy off-line and uploading it. If you really
hose it, you can pull the previous file and restore to get you back up
quickly. Hose a Sonic and you're hosed until you figure out what you
pooched.

Yes, SMTP proxy. Also FTP, HTTP proxies and all can do content type
filtering. Keeps out the SCR, VBS, PIF, BAT, etc. The proxies can force
authentication and the HTTP proxy can do content filtering (surfcontrol DB).

The FB1000 also comes with VPN Manager for up to 4 boxes (FB's and Soho's
alike) - great for Site-Site tunnels between WG appliances, and a 50-user
MUVPN client license.

If desired, you can also add on SpamScreen (at the Firebox level) and,
although I don't care for McAffe, Virusscan.

I've worked both and would definitely take the WG over the Sonic hands-down.
