    Nah, it's the one's that don't teach their kids consequences that have
caused the problem. I'm from the group that prefers to raise free thinkers.
I wonder if the low voter turn out in the US is directly related to the
children being raised with no rights or due process. ;-)

    The OP hasn't presented any evidence that she has actually done anything
wrong other than disagree with him. The term "strangers" was never defined,
and for all we know ... it could mean people he doesn't know. It could be
that this guy is completely being reactionary unnecessarily.

    My overall point is that the actions he is seeking to administer will
only lead to her going more covert. She can't use AIM? Well, she'll
install Trillian, and have access to MSN, AIM, and ICQ. Are you all so far
removed from being a teenager that you don't remember all the ways you
circumvented your parent's wishes? Merely blocking AIM is going to piss her
off, and motivate her to "get even" by finding a way to do it anyway. The
end result of this solution will only breed more defiance.
