Sometimes Web proxies are misconfigured to accept client requests from
anywhere,
this is an unlikely mistake, but iyou can try to access the proxy at the
common HTTP PROXY ports (e.g. 8080) and if yoiu can get a connection
established, you can
thereafter request the proxy to fetch a URL from the inside machine, and
since
you alreadyy have the local machine's IP address, you can try to construct a
URL from it.
At thet company, the sys admin should have at least one finger cut off if
the above
has been made possible by his configuration error - Proxies must allow only
local
clients to access the service.
As to the MAC address, it is useless if you had it, since you are in a
different segment
all that matters is an UP address, MAC address scope is limitted within a
given
Layer-2 domain (akak segment) and not across a boundary of even a single
router.
