You probably had netbeui enabled on your 98 machines
whereas it isn't native to xp.
Netbeui can't be routed over the internet so outpost
doesn't block it.
I use it on my internal network with xp fine.
But you can install it cause its on the xp disk
undersomething like addons directory.
