I have Zone Alarm Pro 3.0 and Xbox Live. I have dual NIC setup on my
computer and connect the Xbox to the second NIC with a crossover
cable. Win2k Internet Sharing is enabled for my 1st NIC. Zonealarm
has detected the xbox as a new connection and I set it as a "trusted"
connection. I have set the security level for trusted connections to
the lowest level. I have opened UDP 88, UDP 3074, and TCP 3074 for my
connection to the internet, so Live can get through. The only problem
is when I play with ZoneAlarm on, Mechassult (only live game) has a
hard time finding games. If I manage to find a game there is no lag
and its not a problem. When I tested my speed in the set up screen, I
have a ping of like 16ms, regardless if ZA is up or not... Any ideas
why Zonealarm seems to be hurting my perforance in finding games? When
I don't have ZA running everything is fine, and I can find all the
games I want. Please don't tell me to buy a router I am aware of that
option, and think I might as well solve this problem instead.
TIA.
