I agree with Andrew; the Win XP built-in firewall (ICF) is very basic; NPF
is far more advanced and sophisticated with considerable additional
functionality. Although it defaults to running in a fairly simple-minded
fashion, it's far more tunable than ICF certainly.

Another consideration (but I'm not sure if it's relevant). If you've got
a 'pre-packaged version of NPF (maybe as part of the system upgrade),
that's usually a limited-time offer (2 weeks, 30 days, 60 days), so you
might want to take a look at it before it expires. Just so you've got a
chance to understand what it does or doesn't do and how you like it.
