No kidding. NATs and routers aren't the same thing, either,
but they're sold that way and it's become the convention to
refer to NATs as routers. Be that as it may, if you're
using a NAT to perform one function of a firewall (limiting
incoming traffic at your network edge), you probably don't
want to use an unsecured protocol to open firewall pinholes
and install NAT state.
