You can try telling msn messenger to use http proxy, but only telling it the
port (80) and no address. I've seen that enable it to filter all its stuff
through port 80.
It needs access to port 1863, which is its msnp port. I think that
sometimes that's the clue. However, can you add any rules manually? If you
can, make the rule for msn messenger only, and grant them free access
inbound and outbound, on port 80. Don't specify a host address, and make
sure you're allowing tcp and udp on that port. The port will go in the
remote port slot. Try that and see if it helps.
