I've had pretty great results with Kerio Free pfw v2.14. For a long
time I swore by Sygate 5.0 Pro and it is still a super pfw but in my
tests using TaskInfo 2002 Sygate uses over twice the ram, resources (for
Win9x/ME) and more cpu cycles than Kerio. In addition my system takes
longer to boot to the desktop with Sygate than with Kerio which I
suppose is not so terribly crucial.
So I'm sticking with Kerio.
