Yes the computer had internet access and there were no anti-virus nor
firewall installed. The ISP has allowed 2 IP from the same connection(For a
fee of course!!) There was two computers accessing the internet with one
cable modem.
The cable modem was pluged into a simple hub so that both computers could
access the internet.
Since I've installed the router, all 3 computers(another one was hadded and
therefore, the need for the router) have access to the internet but only one
of those 3 needs to be unprotected by any firewall.
The setup I've made for this friend of mine is that I connected the cable
modem into the WAN and all 3 computers are pluged in from port 2 to 4.
All i need is to make one computer completely open to the internet so that
it wil be able to host games over the internet again as it did before I
installed the router.
This person doesn't care about the protection and still want to be open
against my advice. He says that he dosen't care since he does'nt have any
data to protect and can format at any time.

I beleive that there is some kind of hardware firewall because i did not
