packet will be logged if you manage yours rules correctly : e.g. a bottom
rule that deny all traffic not permitted with log option set...

No answer yet to your second question... Sometimes it could be IDENT
requests (port 113) or some other call to spyware not installed (in your
case) on your PC, creating the logs...
