A savvy user who knows a thing or two about security, and doesn't use
their computer in a moderate to high risk manner probably doesn't need a
firewall. An antivirus and anti-trojan package kept up to date would suit
them fine. Most people who get compromised download the thing themselves
(file or email), or they have a system that presents itself as attractive to
a hacker.
