My XP Home system periodically crashes while browsing (using IE 6.0)
with a "PAGE FAULT IN NON-PAGED AREA" message. Using Event Viewer I'm
able to trace the cause to True Vector which causes about five errors
immediately before the crash. The error descriptions are not terribly
descriptive:
"The description for Event ID ( 1 ) in Source ( True Vector Engine )
cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary
registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a
remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to
retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The
following information is part of the event: ."
but it does pinpoint True Vector (i.e. ZoneAlarm) as the culprit. Does
anyone have any experience with this? Solution? Workaround? I'd prefer
not to switch firewalls but if necessary that's one obvious fix. All
ideas appreciated. Thanks.
