The guy that broke in started answering my e-mails.
And he explained what he did.

He wrote that I'd had "sharing files " (in LAN of course) turned on,
with read/write rights, and no password.
That was true. I had 1 folder "shared" for all LAN useres.

But... this is still a little weird, cause ZA3.1 Pro should have
stoped outcoming requests of viewing my files, shouldn't it?
The "outside" network (via DSL) is definitely in "internet zone",
not in "trusted zone" and the protection is set to highest possible.

He had not used e-mail to do it, however he didn't tell me exactly
how he managed to break in.

He told me, that I'd be safe (from him at least) if I turn off the sharing,
or at least switch it to "read only".

I can turn it off totally, I don't need it that bad.

But I really need sharing turned on - on the other PC's (behing the NAT).
Is it safer?

And I need to share the printer, that is connected to the ICS server.
Is sharing printer safe? i don't care if some hacker prints somehing :-)
I just need my files to be safe.

How much can I trust in Zone Alarm 3.1 Pro?

Thanks!
