First off, if nothing really weird is happening, I doubt you've been hacked,
but only another hacker would know.
Still, I doubt a hacker can prevent you from installing antivirus and a
firewall, but I could be wrong.
I wouldn't be defeatist about it, though. First thing, I'd make sure I have
good antivirus and a good firewall installed. I suggest buying Norton
Personal Firewall and Norton Antivirus. However, if you're not familiar
with computers, just get Norton Internet Security (basically the above two
programs in one package, but it does most of the thinking for you).
