I used Zone Alarm for about two years, but it's gotten progressively
worse in the bloat and stability departments instead of getting
better. I finally kicked the habit and switched to Sygate, which so
far has proved to be more stable and less resource-hungry than ZA; so
much so that my computer boots up faster. Agnitum Outpost and Kerio
are both good also.

But try the free version of Zone Alarm and see what you think for
yourself.
