If that were true, everyone would have the same problems. I have been
running ZA across several versions trouble free for some time. Most of the
issues I have seem with ZA are users who are having trouble configuring it
properly. Given that it is probably the most popular personal firewall, it
is not surprising to see more posts about problems with it than with other
firewalls ... simply because more people are using it.
The user here could have a corrupt database, or a bad install ... or
simply have it configured incorrectly. There isn't enough information to go
on, really. But, I can say that ZA does not have a negative effect on my
broadband connection, as I run very near my advertised limits most of the
time ... except at peak times where there is a little but of a drop off.
Running bandwidth benchmarks with ZA on and off have shown no difference in
my throughput.
