If you want to learn, start out with Linux and IPTables. Doesn't cost
anything and it doesn't hold your hand so you pretty much are forced to
learn the basics before you can make it work at all. Knowing what
configurations work for a given situation is the hard part of using a
firewall, the mechanics of implementing a given configuration on a
particular brand and model are not all that difficult.
