I used to be an avid fan of Zonealarm Pro but moved onto a full firewall
router when my home office increased to 2 pcs.
My question is this, I was told that using a netgear FR318 firewall
router negated the need for Zonealarm anymore, and based on this advice I
only use the router now.
My friend has since told me that the router will only protect me from
incoming attacks, not connections initiated from my computer, whereas
ZoneAlarm blocks outgoing connection requests as well.
Is this true?, am I as safe as I thought?, or should I be using ZA as
well? If so, was it worth the £250 for the FR318, or should I have just
bought a much cheaper NAT-Router and kept Zonealarm instead?
Many thanks in advance,
Nick Hill
