You don't say which OS you're using. But I've had a problem on Win2K
(maybe exists on WinXP also): ZA doesn't write its rules database
properly when it shuts down. You can see this in action because it
writes an event to the NT event log.
Only workaround I've found is: when I make a significant number of
rule changes (i.e., granting permission to a number of apps) I shut
down ZA manually before I shut down the machine. You can do this by
right-clicking on the ZA icon in the system tray and then selecting
"Shutdown Zone Alarm".
