Sounds like a possible solution.
I monitor installs with InControl5. It appears these 2 dirs were
added by TPF.
C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield
C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information\
{51C8741C-4A91-42A6-B6A2-CB891F7398A1}
The registry had 374 keys added and 434 values added to those keys.
There's no way to verify how well the registry was cleaned without
having a record from InControl5. You'll have to assume the reg won't
be a problem.
Clean your temp files out and have minimal programs running during
install. Good luck.
