Look, you're going to have to provide some information about precisely
a) which version of MSN (or Windows) Messenger are you attempting to run?
(By rights, on Win XP, it should be Win Messenger, not MSN Messenger.)
b) Exactly _how_ are you attempting to use it?

For security reasons, there are certain activities that I will simply not
allow Windows Messenger to accomplish on Win XP (and consequently won't
provide advice on how to accomplish them).

But, you need to provide a bit more detail for _anyone_ to help on this
issue. The way I have Messenger set up, it _never_ tries to send my
e-mail address (but that may not work with the way you're attempting to
operate, whatever that may be).
