Password problem caused by BID and/or ZAP

I recently upgraded my firewalls to the latest versions of
Blackice and ZAP. Since then I can't access hotmail via
hotmail.com, as the password is always rejected.
Using OE allows me to read email. Howver, I still really
want to know which protection feature is stopping
websites like hotmail from validating passwords.
Can anyone help?
