Hi...

may be the program only wants to check if you are online.

To be on the safe side and to check what happen during this
online sessions, you should install a ´packet sniffer´ or like it is
called, a network analyser.

There are several freewares available on the net.

This programs can record all the traffic going out and comming in.
Record all the ip#, the port numbers and protocolls involved.

With such a analysing tool you can see, what is transfered to
the internet...or comming in. You can collect the ip stream and
if it is plain datas you can read it, if its encoded datas, you can
exspect that some strange things are going on.

Many programs has online-upgrade or update possibilities and
you never know what is transfered during the update procedure.

May be only the program version is transfered but may be additional
your web surfings or other personal datas are collected and
transfered for ´statistic purposes´.

Bye..
