Just a followup to this I did some checking on the web and managed to get
it configured. Basically you end up using Microsoft IIS 5.x SMTP server,
or Microsoft Exchange Server 2000 as a proxy. The SMTP filter built into
the ISA will only filter on the SMTP commands it won't filter the body of
the message. To actually allow the ISA to filter out messages from certain
domains/senders or messages with certain attachements you have to use the
Microsoft SMTP server as a relay. The ISA and the SMTP server talk to each
other usign DCOM. When someone outside your network wants to send an email
to you they actually talk to the Microsoft SMTP server, and then if the
email is allowed it is passed on to your actual mail server. It is
possible to run the relay server on the internal interface of the ISA
server, or as a separate box.
