I guess this is a firewire (IEEE 1394) controller. Also commonly known as
a 'DV' controller (and connector), as in 'Digital Video'.
Lately, I've seen people talking about using this connector for IP
networking, and that is probably why it shows up in your control panel.
Unless you connect with the internet using this port, there should be no
reason to worry. Also, I guess firewalling this port would introduce
new and exciting problems to your digital video connections :)
