zlib is not Linux specific, that's very true.
My main systems are running OpenBSD and I still haven't heard of any
security problems about this at all. Wouldn't surprise me if this was
included in the OpenBSD audit, and continuing audit they do. I'm not worried
at all but I will find out more about this.
