Hi,
I'm looking for some input here, currently I am setting up a
firewall (via iptables) on a RH 7.2 box and I have read on previous
occassions where you should run your Proxy server (in my case it will be
squid) on a seperate box other than the one that is providing your firewall
services. My question is, what is the issue in hosting both your firewall
and proxy on the same box, due to the fact that I currently have an NT box
running WinRoute Pro that provides the same services? Are there performance
issues with both services running? Does anyone currently run this kind of
setup? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
