ftp, telnet:Connection lost/closed, firewall config?

Hi all,

I am need of some tech help on an odd situation I have..

I cant connect through my firewall from a remote computer to ftp or telnet
services. The connection begins, then closes before any login prompts.

The settings in the firewall look great, I even set to any>any on ftp and
telnet as tests, and can connect to the telnet and ftp services from behind
the firewall, within the network, but not from outside the firewall. Any
ideas?

I am using a watchgaurd firebox, similar to checkpoint in ui.

This is very urgent.
