Just out of curiosity, how did you ascertain that 192.168.2.1:88 worked if
there were no entries to that effect in the event logs? (I'm assuming you
weren't stepping through port by port!) <g>

NIS/NPF naturally blocks everything that isn't permitted. Did you have
any Implicit Block firewall events showing in the log?
