Sounds like you got ripped. They've never charged more for the additional
CPU, they only support up to 2 CPU's. If you look at current pricing you
can buy the Velociraptor appliance with UNLIMITED nodes for less than
$10,000. Also sounds like you bought the 200 user version for 50 nodes,
since Raptor tracks it by IP address you should have been able to get off
cheap with the 100 user version. Kinda sounds like you must have worked
with a VAR that didn't know how licensing worked.

Gernot, did you look at the 200R appliance from Symantec? This has the
PPPOE internal to it and is designed to work with DSL and cable type of
connections. The 200R also supports 2 WAN ports, can be clustered, has the
capability to dial a backup line should the primary go down, and supports
VPN. It's not quite as fully featured as SEF but for smaller offices it
would be MUCH cheaper and easier to install.
