I've only read a few posts about this, but here is my $.02
I have a LinkSys BEFSR41 and a 16 port switch, I run several servers,
and host a game for friends every couple weeks.
I run Counter Strike - to do this, I have my server at a fixed internal
IP address - 192.168.3.220
I forward all ports 27000-27020 to .220, the system is NOT part of the
DMZ. Once I get this setup, I start the game in Dedicated Server mode
with the server running on port 27016 - this means I can connect/scan
with 27105 (the standard port) without conflicting with outsiders.
There are some games that DO NOT work well with NAT, some work fine,
read about your problem in the game forum, or other online area - the
firewall group will not have a lot of good feedback, since a NAT is not
a true firewall.
