1.40.2 has been very stable for me. The entire 1.39.x series was
unstable because they were trying to solve too many problems at one
time. There was the PPPoE problem with DSL connections that was
critical and then they had to implement SPI to keep up with the
competition, so that series of revisions had a lot of problems.
