Help: locked out: how to Log On after deactivation of Domain?

Sadly I have done the following mistake:
In a configured Win 2000 Pro System I deactivated (*click* in dialogue
box) the installed Domain (say a.b.c) and activated the Workgroup
field (I did so as I intended to directly connect the computer with
another one via crossed cable... using the same Workgroup).
Now after restart I cannot Log On anymore (with the user name /
password) I assume that user/pwd is associated with the domain a.b.c.
In consequence I cannot "undo" my change.
Can you help me, how to log on to the nt-system again?
