I'm developing a program which runs as a service on a users workstation. The
software needs to write logs every few minutes to a file server.

1. Is it possible for the service (running as SYSTEM I think) to access a
share? Eg. \\fileserver\share$\ ??

2. Can I store the service executable in the share too? Eg.
\\fileserver\share$\prog.exe and install the service from there. Will
Windows be able to start the service when Windows is booted?

If this is possible, does it require any alterations to the security of the
share or is the default security sufficient to allow this.
