if you have installed your w2k on the ntfs-filesystem, then there is a
ability to give different permissions for directories and
subdirectories/files by using/unuesing the feature"inheritance". Make
Main-directories read-only, but subdirectories/files with
change-rights, whichs allows users adding, changing and deleting
files, but not Main-directories
