NTFS File Encryption in a peer to peer network

With Windows 2000 I was able to encrypt files and then access them from
a remote computer in a peer to peer network so long as I was logged on
as the same user and with the same password as the user who had
encrypted the files on the Windows 2000 machine.

With Windows XP this does not seem to work. I can get access to the
files on the remote Windows XP machine but they come across encrypted.
Are there any settings to make this work the way it did in Windows 2000?
