Hi group - this is a repost, no reply yet...see if you can help?

Hi group -

we are moving the content from an old NT4 file/web server to a new Win2K
box. During the lifetime of the NT box, many accounts (and admins) have come
and gone, and no one knows who has access to what (and why) on the machine.
Many users had admin access to the box because it was a quick and dirty
solution.....end result being a jungle of permissions.

I would like to ask you if there is a tool out there that can help us map up
the files/directories to their respective users. We want to a) eliminate old
users b) give existing users access to their appropriate files no more, no
less and c) document the work before, during and after it´s done.

End objective is to move only the necessary files and the right users/files
combination to the new box, not all the old junk.

Now, I know that you guys have ideas on how to do this. Please don´t just
tell me to shut off all users and let them back on after they
complained.....it won´t work.

Any pointers? Graphical tools wud be nice, but not necessary. The RK utils
don´t do it for us, we need something better. SOmething that lists one user
at a time, and all files/dirs he/she has access to (a la Novell)? Free or
commercial isn´t an issue either, as long as price is reasonable :-)

All help appreciated.
