We have a 2000 Small Business Server for our network domain. I currently
have DSL running to my stand-alone machine I use for web design. But we wish
to have access to the www for all computers on our network domain.
We are wondering if a Linksys (~$100) Router and Norton Firewall Software
will be of sufficient protection for our business server.
What I have in mind is having the DSL modem connect into the router then the
router going into the network hub which all the network computers hook up
to.
We have contacted the company that hooked up our network and they want to
sale us a $500 router and some super high dollar software. They say using
the Linsys style router and Norton will compromise our network! Is this
true?
Thank you for any input you can provide.
