"Corruption" is a strong accusation :-)

What Windows version and service pack are you using? If you're using NT
4.0, WINS was pretty stable starting with SP4 (of course if you're running
NT 4 you should be running SP6a + SRP). Windows 2000 WINS was always pretty
stable.

Do you use DHCP or static addressing? Are you bridging or routing from
ethernet to token ring? (hint: NetBIOS doesn't work extremely well in some
bridged environments).

If DHCP, are you distributing NetBIOS node types? Which one?

In general, where I see WINS problems I look for network configuration
problems.
