Hello everyone,
I have a problem that I as of yet don't have an answer to.
I work remotely from home using a desktop computer to collect my email
using a tunnel client, the desktop
I have was orininally authenticated on my organizations network and thus
when I log on now as my domain user
it allows me to do so because the authentication info is cached
somewhere on the hardrive
Recently I have acquired a nice laptop running Win2K - but the tunnel
client won't run on Win2k, as an alternative I
have installed VMware which will effectively run Windows NT on my laptop
for me as a virual machine so I can get my email
- the problem is is that I can't logon using the new windows NT VMware
installation because my authentication details for logging onto
my organisations domain have never existed and therefore I am thus
fucked.
Even when I tunnel into my organisation and attempt to change my details
from a workgroup to a domain it replies
saying it can't find a domain controller - does anyone have any
suggestions as to how I'll get round this without travelling
853 mile to my organization HQ?
I had the thought of perhaps ripping off the SAM database from my NT
desktop and slapping it onto the VMware installation -
but it does'nt want to play.
Cheers
Graeme
