Hi all,
*** Background:
A few days ago, I was tweaking the permission settings in drive D:\ where I put all
of my applications (Win2k-SP2 resides in drive C:). That almost turned into a
disaster when some folders' permissions were reset through Security>Advanced...
After the computer booted up, and even the Administrator account would get
(msiexec.exe: DLL initialization failed), and Windows would automatically shut
down. In the end I booted up in Safe mode and tried to reset the permission
settings in D:\. Almost everything is fine then...
*** Problem:
Every time when the computer is booted up, I got an message box from
"Norton Protection: ATTENTION!" and said "Access Denied, drive D:"
The permissions in D:\ are "FullControl" given to Administrators,
Authenticated Users, and SYSTEM. I tried giving Full Control to Everyone, and
I would still get that message at boot up. I have tried uninstalled Norton Antivirus,
and surprisingly I still get the message at boot up...
So now I am not sure what next to look for. Would someone please give me
a few pointers?
Thanks in advance,
Gavin
