Hi,

We have a customer that had Windows 2000 server. The reinstalled the O/S
because of issues that they where having and now one directory that was
encrypted using EFS is not accessible. They did not back up their keys
before reformatting. I have added a recovery agent certificate to the
administrator account but that does not seem to work. Should it even if the
key is lost or is there some way to crack the encryption.

Is there any hope for these files or are they toast?

Thanks

James
