Personally I think this gentleman is right about Linux. Not that I am
knocking Micro$oft products, as I use them as well.
I agree with the Windows Product Activiation B$. Another way for Micro$oft
to make sure it gets its almighty dollar. Yes, you can run other software
on Micro$oft servers, things such as BIND, Apache Web server (there are
several others based on Apache, like IBM's web server for example, MDaemon
and other mail servers as well as a whole *** load of other products. For
Linux ther are just as many. But there is one thing that any one with a
brain cannot deny. There are just as many service and products for Linux,
but guess what people? They are free. That's right they don;t cost a
dime. They are supported by who? A vast, wordlwide user community who will
asssist you for, that's right people - for free. Why? Because they make no
money from it. If you have a problem that you can't fix or figure out, you
have to pay Micro$oft for $upport. Linux makes more sense as far as TOC and
ROI. One can purchase hardware with no OS, get Linux for free, install
Samba for free, configure Samba security = domain and voila! You have a SMB
    server.
Oh yeah, configure sendmail, or exim or any other mail server for that
matter, install apache for you web and there you have it. For a small
business, lets say hardware runs $4000 for a server. Now add about $1200
for Microsoft SBS so you get all the fixings. Now lets assume that you only
have 5 users, well SBS comes with a 5 user license so that is it. Total
cost for MS server $5200. Total cost for Linux server $4000. Now lets say
you need to add mroe users. Cost for adding license to MS server - guessing
about $50 per user. Cost for adding licenses to Linux. Yep you guessed
    it, nothing.

Again, I love Microsoft products - I use them every day. As a matter of
fact I write this using Outlook on a Windows 98 PC - it is great. But don't
knock Linux just because you have a bias. If you haven;t used both, then
stfu, you have no right to pass judgement. And if you have used Linux and
can't figurr it out, then stfu cause you just a moron who shouldn't be
administering any system. They all have their vulnerabilities, they all
have the strengtsh and weaknesses. Be smart and make your own eucated
decision based upon fact and your experience with actual useage of the
    product before you bash it.

Also note that the dude who originally posted this is a moron who shouldn't
be using either OS since he obvious;y doesn;t know Richard about being able
to use products other than M$'s on their servers - get real!
