Linux HA by multiple NICs - looking for docs

Hi all,

I'm working my way through the iproute2 docs, and I've got a gut feeling
that it must be possible to connect the same server to a LAN using multiple
interfaces, ideally with the same IP address, and load-balance the traffic
through them, while providing near instantaneous/transparent recovery from
a failure on one of the NICs - kind of like Tru64's NetRAIN or Sun's
multipath.

I guess someone smarter than me has been down this path before, but I can't
find anything specifically about this from the Linux-HA site or in the
iproute2 docs. Can anybody suggest some online docs, or even better things
to type into Google?

TIA,

C.
