I'd like to see you get the help that you need to get comfortable with
your SuSe firewall. I don't use SuSe and I have never even seen their
setup. I do know some about iptables and netfilter, but agree with
Colin's thought:

I would never advocate that somebody whom wasn't 100% sure of
what they were doing tweak their iptables rules by hand.

I found 5 newsgroups in English with suse in the name and all seem active.
There's also some in French and German if that's any help. I would think
that if the issue is really more about learning the SuSe interface than
actual specific security issues, then you might get a faster/better answer
there. Probably many readers here mostly write their own firewall rules
as needed and might not be very focused on any GUI front-end interfaces.
But possibly there are some here who would be able to help you with the
SuSe firewall if your questions were small and specific enough.

If the help and documentation that SuSe provides is not clear then perhaps
you should ask them where to find additional documentation or
clarifications. Perhaps they have a new users help line, e-mail support
or mailing list of their own.

Good Luck!!
