Perhaps chroot? Or running this login under NDS/NIS over the loopback,
and a restricted shell.

Got THAT one right. Wowser!!! I take it this was a while ago, when just
about every application had shell escapes and all that to worry about.
Having the source, you could get in and hack those out before compiling.
